Yes if you are a regular patient of the practice you are welcome to book a phone consult. It is a Medicare requirement that you have had a face to face appointment in the practice within the last 12 months to be eligible for a Medicare rebate for a phone/video consult. If you aren’t sure, ask a reception member to check prior to booking a phone consult. If you are a carer, please make sure the patient you are requesting an appointment for is present for during the phone consult.
Yes! We bulk bill all standard medicare eligible consults, care plans and health assessments for patients who hold a Medicare or DVA card.
There is a private, out of pocket fee for procedures and specialised consults that don’t attract a Medicare rebate (eg. Workcover, employment medicals, insurance assessments, medical reports/forms). If you are unsure, call our friendly reception to ask if there will be a fee involved.
Yes - all scripts and specialist referrals need an appointment with a GP. This is often a valuable opportunity for your GP to check your medical record, do preventative screening or following up outstanding tests or results. We understand sometimes scripts get lost and referrals expire so please let reception know if it is urgently needed and they will try their best to find an appointment for you.
Reception staff cannot give results over the phone or via email so please make an appointment with your GP if you would like to discuss your results in detail. You should receive a text message once your GP has reviewed your incoming results.
You will receive text messages to your mobile from our practice to confirm your appointment, after your appointment (if you have been bulk billed) and after your GP has reviewed your results. Occasionally, reception staff or your GP will send you a text message to communicate information if they can’t get onto you via phone. If you are concerned about any communication you receive, please don’t click on any links and call reception to ask if it is legitimate communication.
